Vent Sim: Ventilator Alarms Privacy Policy

"Vent Sim: Ventilator Alarms" (the "App") is a mechanical ventilator training tool for healthcare professionals. This policy describes how the App treats the privacy of its users.

Personal information

The App does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, location, or device identifiers, and it does not transmit or store any such information. Nothing you enter or do in the App is ever sent to the developer or to any third party.

Nothing is stored on your device either

Your case selection and any on-screen settings are discarded when you close (quit) the App. The next time you open it, it starts fresh from its initial state. No record is kept on the device. (The only exception is the record of your paid-version purchase, which Apple's in-app purchase system keeps on the device. The App never alters that record or sends it anywhere.)

Network communication only for purchases

The fonts and data the App uses are bundled inside the App itself. Every feature except buying or restoring the paid version works with no internet connection (offline).

When you buy the paid version, restore a purchase, or when the App checks whether you have purchased it, the App communicates with Apple through the App Store's in-app purchase system. Apple processes the payment and keeps the purchase record; your payment details (such as card numbers) and your Apple ID are never sent to the developer. Apple handles this information under Apple's own privacy policy.

Analytics and advertising

The App does not include any analytics tools that measure usage, nor any advertising mechanism (ad SDK).

Educational purpose

The App is an educational and training simulator. It is not intended for diagnosing actual patients or deciding on their treatment. Clinical decisions must always be based on approved medical devices and medical information.

About the web version

The web version (https://ncls-vent-sim.netlify.app/), which offers the same content as the App in a browser, is covered by this same privacy policy.
